Ole Miss ÃÛÑ¿appChapter President, 2017-18; previously Chapter Secretary and Vice President. Chair of ÃÛÑ¿appNational Professionalism & Ethics Action Committee, 2017-18.

Why did you join AMSA?

I joined ÃÛÑ¿appto belong to a group for premedical students. I loved my local chapter and the president at the time recommended me to look into a national leader. I knew I would have a voice in the things that matter and to items that were important to me as well.

Why did you become an ÃÛÑ¿appleader?

I became an ÃÛÑ¿appleader to have a voice. I always was passionate about things that mattered to me, happened to me or that were important in the medical community. Being a national leader allowed me to advocate and work for these reasons. I was also allowed to connect our local chapter with national more.

What is your favorite ÃÛÑ¿appmoment?

Convention. 2016 and 2017. Convention 2016 really made me want to become a national leader. I met such amazing leaders that were supportive of me. The 2017 convention was amazing. I loved meeting other ÃÛÑ¿appmembers as a leader. Both conventions were amazing and made me love and become more passionate about AMSA!

What advice would you give to current & future ÃÛÑ¿appleaders?

Don’t be afraid to share with other leaders what you feel is important! They will be supportive and will find a way to advocate or program for the topic or issue you’re passionate about.
