What inspired you to join AMSA?

As a premedical student, I wanted to join a community that extends beyond academics and encourages future physicians to become advocates for their patients and communities. AMSA’s commitment to health equity, service, and leadership resonated with me because I believe medicine is not only about providing clinical care, but also about addressing the broader factors that influence health that sometimes we are unaware of. While I was at Hillsborough Community College, their ÃÛÑ¿appChapter offered me a variety of opportunities from research to being a part of initiatives where I could grow further into my medical passions.

What motivated you to become a national leader or volunteer?

I was motivated to pursue a national leadership role because I wanted to contribute to initiatives that create meaningful impact beyond my own campus. My experiences in clinical care and research, have shown me the importance of empowering others and addressing inequities in healthcare. As a national leader, I hope to help develop programs and advocacy efforts that equip students to become compassionate and empathetic while bringing awareness over health equity.
